We've moved on! But you can still see where we came from across the water. Special events, private yoga lessons and bodywork sessions are all happening in the studio.

Meet Lee Wotherspoon

Teacher / Practitioner / Owner

Lee first discovered yoga at age 18. Her early yoga practice was guided by books and self-study. She remained drawn to yoga for the quiet, reflective nature of that practice and for how the poses and breath work challenged her to increase strength and flexibility of body and mind.

After receiving her Master of Public Health, Lee was inspired to teach yoga as a part of promoting health in the community. In 2006, Lee traveled to India to complete a 250-hour yoga teacher training at Yoga Vidya Gurukul, in Nasik. There, she participated in a research project demonstrating the effect of holding yoga poses on lowering blood pressure. More importantly, she was immersed in Indian tradition and developed a deeper understanding of ancient yogic philosophies. She is still tremendously grateful for that humbling experience. Lee later completed a teacher training apprenticeship with Mentor Zack Dixon of Quiet Mind Studio and Level I and 2 Thai Yoga Bodywork training with the Lotus Palm School. Zack passed the torch to Lee in 2015 and she continues to run Quiet Mind with the mission to contribute to the wellbeing of her community. Her’s is a mission of vast, expansive love.

Lee’s classes are alignment influenced with an emphasis on exploring movement and the sensory experience of the present moment. Sequences include establishing dynamic tension in each pose to create space, strength and ultimately freedom. Lee’s classes promote intelligence in the body; linking breath, action and focused awareness to move inward.

Thai bodywork with Lee is a whole-being experience. Her goal is for you to experience deep relaxation and release. Each session melts away tension and renews embodied awareness.

Lee is honored to work in community health and as a yoga teacher and bodyworker on Cape Cod. Lee has always returned to yoga and to Wellfleet as a way to center herself. After many years away, she settled back in to her hometown in 2006, with her husband Darren to raise their children Caledonia and Kaden. Lee knows full well she’s lucky to be lucky, surrounded by beauty and love!
